Walking into a new church or going to church for the first time can be intimidating and sometimes even overwhelming. The intent of this page is to make you comfortable coming to service at FBC. Also, some find it useful to watch a video of a sermon or entire worship service in the On Demand section of our website.
On Sunday morning, the Sanctuary is opened at 10:00 a.m. Contemporary Christian music is played in the background while announcements and Church information is shown on the video screen. Our Sunday School and small groups let out around 10:15 a.m. Many people will gather in the Sanctuary to fellowship before the service begins.

When you come in the door, someone will be there to say "Welcome" and offer you a bulletin. These are members of our Greeter Ministry. They are there to answer any questions you have, show you where the restroom is, take you to the nursery, get you a hearing impaired device, help you find a seat, ect.
A few minutes before the service starts, recorded announcements are played over the sound system and shown on the video screen.
At 10:30 a.m. Pastor Ayres begins the service. The Pastor welcomes everyone, goes over current events, sometimes shares a passage of Scripture, and opens the service in prayer.
We then stand and are lead in song by our FBC Worship Team in a few songs.

The music at FBC is mixed. We feature many traditional and familiar hymns along with contemporary and familiar praise songs. The lyrics to the songs are projected on the video screen. The Worship Team regularly features 2 guitars, piano, keyboard, and a several vocalists.
After a few songs, we usually feature a time of fellowship. This is a brief chance to say good morning to those around you.
We then continue the service with another song lead by the Worship Team.

At that time, one of the Deacons will lead us in Prayer for our time of offering. Then our ushers will pass around collection plates during a special music performance. Visitors and guests are under no pressure to give. Our family believes it is a pleasure to give back a small portion of the blessings God has given us. You may notice that our members put their offering in little white envelopes. There are some blank ones in the pews if you wish to give that way as well. The money collected during the general offering is counted. 21.5% of that amount is divided amungst our various missionaries and sent to them. The remaining amount is deposited into our general operating fund. We also have a Capitol Projects Fund at FBC, but those donations are made separately and that money is specifically designated for major building projects like roofing, paving, ect.

After the special music, its time for preaching!
Pastor Ayres preaches from the New King James version of the Holy Bible. We encourage everyone to bring their Bible to service. If you do not have a Bible or forgot your copy, we do provide them in the pews for you to use during service. Pastor Ayres normally publishes an outline for his sermons in the weekly bulletin. The outline will have a few blanks for you to fill and and space to take notes. We encourage our members to use the weeks sermon for study during the following week. Pastor Ayres also uses power point slides on the video screen featuring the outline, graphics, and selected Scripture verses. We purposely do not put all of the verses on the screen to encourage use of your Bible.
After the sermon, Pastor Ayres will close the preaching time in prayer.

During our last song, we ALWAYs provide an opportunity to come forward to the Altar. This "Altar Call" can serve many purposes. We have many members of our leadership ready to pray with you at the Altar and the Pastor is also available to pray with you for whatever God puts in your heart. This is also a time for Salvation. If you are ready to accept Jesus in your heart, people are ready to help you do just that. This time is not meant to single anyone out. It is intended for people to submit to God and His will in a public way. It is also perfectly acceptable to do these things in private prayer during the final song. Its really a time for you to reflect on what God puts in your heart during the service.
