The search for purpose in life has puzzled people for thousands of years.  Usually, its because we look in the wrong place: ourselves.

While society and self-help books disagree, you won't discover purspose by looking within yourself.  Only God, the creator of life, can reveal your purpose here on earth.

"For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers.  All Things were created through Him and for Him." Colossians 1:16

To know God's purpose for your life means you need to know God.  God desires to have a relationship with you and show you your purpose in life.

Sin has separated you God.  He sent his son Jesus Christ to die for you and pay the penalty for your sin, in order to restore your relationship with Him.

The penalty for your sin has been paid!

The only thing He asks is that you to accept Jesus into your heart.

We are ALL sinful

"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" Romans 3:23

Jesus Christ died for us on the cross

"But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8

You can repent and turn away from sin

"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 6:23

You MUST receive Him

"But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:" John 1:12

Receiving Christ into your heart is as easy as asking.  It can be a simple as a prayer like this:

Dear God,

I know that I am a sinner and need your forgiveness.  I believe that your son Jesus died for my sins.  I want to turn away from my sins.  I want to invite Jesus Christ to come into my heart as my personal Savior.  I want a personal relationship with You and to know Your purpose for my life.

In Jesus' name, Amen

When you receive Christ into your heart, you begin your personal relationship with God.  You can talk to Him in prayer at any time about anything.  The Christian life is a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ.

At First Baptist Church, we exist to help you develop in your relationship with God and to help you spread His good news to others.
