Pete and Cindy Zull met during their college years and married soon after graduation. They joined a campus ministry and served for eleven years at two different universities. In 1989, Pete and Cindy felt called to foreign ministry and began working in the Philippines as church planters for Regions Beyond Missionary Union (RBMU). For four years, Pete led Bible studies, discipled others, and prepared teaching materials. He also served as a team leader for RBMU.
While they were on furlough in 1994, Pete required kidney surgery which meant a return to the States and a long recovery. That same year, they began work at Indiana University with International Students, Inc. (ISI), a campus group whose aim is to reach foreign students with the gospel of Christ.
Pete and Cindy are in their thirteenth year of ministry to international students with ISI. This is a ministry which allows them to be missionaries to the whole world without leaving the United States. They have met students from over 100 countries, and it is their goal to see them come to know Christ, learn to minister, and then go back home as missionaries to their own country. Many of the students come from countries that do not allow missionaries to enter their country.
Pete and Cindy have five children and three grandchildren. Isaac, their oldest child, married Julie in July of 1999, and they have the three children. Bethany just graduated from Ball State University. Aaron married Crystal in April of 2006. Anna is going to be a senior at Bloomington High School South, and Sarah is still home-schooled by Cindy.
Just before Christmas of 2005, Cindy’s dad came to live with Pete and Cindy.
The Zulls have been supported by First Baptist Church since 1988.
