Forest And Margaret Zander

Forest and Margaret serve in Bible translation as support missionaries for Wycliffe missionaries working overseas. After twenty years in South America and fourteen years as North Central Regional Director, Forrey now serves full-time as Minister-at-Large and Associate Director of Stewardship Ministries at Wycliffe North Central. This ministry takes them to missions conferences in churches, summer conferences, missions banquets, and camps. They are still foreign missionaries, impacting Wycliffe’s work overseas by recruiting new missionaries, inspiring believers to pray for Bible-less people groups around the world, and challenging Christians to a deeper level of commitment to the Lord and the Great Commission.

In Stewardship Ministries, Forest works with foundations, corporations, individuals, and churches in the funding of strategic projects sent in by field missionaries. Forrest also serves on the Wycliffe North Central Regional Leadership Team and as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Aramaic Bible Translation, Inc., which focuses on the translation of the Scriptures into Assyrian, Chaldean, Suryoyo, Mardini, and Ma’lula, modern dialects of the original Aramaic language that Jesus spoke with his disciples. Margaret assists Forest in his work and serves in Prayer Ministries, receiving prayer letters from Wycliffe missionaries, praying for them, and writing notes and e-mails of encouragement. Margaret also provides many meals for special functions at the Wycliffe office, at church, and at home.

Forest and Margaret have three children and six grandchildren. Their children serve the Lord in various ways, actively participating in their local churches. Their youngest, Alby, is married to Lorri. They have three children, Zachary, Mattelin, and Leeya (Hebrew: I am the Lord’s), ages 7, 6, and 4. They are in the process of adopting two boys from Liberia, Africa, ages 3 and 1. Alby is in “full-time” ministry as a public high school teacher and football coach, while Lorri is a full-time mom and works part-time at home. Daughter, Arlene, and her husband, Randy Johnson, live in Neenah, Wisconsin, where Arlene is a full-time mom (former Aerospace Engineer), and Dr. Randy is a practicing neurosurgeon at the regional hospital. They have two sons, Charles Forrest and Colbey Morgan, ages 8 and 4. Arlene and Randy recently returned from a medical missions trip to Ecuador. Daughter, Anna Marie, is a nurse practitioner at Misericordia House, a home for the physically and mentally challenged in Chicago, and husband, Tim Murphy, owns and operates a construction and remodeling company. They have one daughter, Nora Margaret, age 10.
